Introducing: Odysseus Arnreuby Von Bizmark

I enjoy eating well and preparing my own food and I love fresh ingredients. I love knowing what I am eating and eating things as close to their natural
form as possible.

I enjoy entertaining people at my place and I get a kick out of watching people eat what I have prepared and enjoying it. My idea of food was shifted on my first trip to Italy in 2005. I was amazed at how fresh ingredients were treated like gold and transformed into a sort of magic. I was invited to a family home in Forte dei Marmi at the foothills of the mountains where Michelangelo collected the marble for his sculpture. What I was led to believe would be a lunch visit turned out to be a twelve hour long eating fest.

All the plates were prepared fresh in Maria’s kitchen. The whole family came, the children and grandchildren. Most of the food was picked from the garden, right down to the wine which was made by one of the family members. I learned that the process of transforming ingredients into delicious treats can be a powerful act and an enjoyable one.

Because I live alone, I am learning ways of preserving foods to avoid wastage and spoilage. I believe that food is a celebration, a celebration of life. If you are still putting food in your mouth, then it means you are still invested in living so you might as well eat well.

  • So how do you preserve fresh veggies to stay fresh for longer? I struggle wirh that. I end up buying them in small portions.
